“Collaborating with a first-class university of global renown and the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is a tremendous boost to the MedUni Vienna’s reputation. It will offer our students and lecturers, as well as our researchers, new opportunities to exchange experiences at the highest possible academic level,” says Wolfgang Schütz, Rector of the MedUni Vienna. The first specific step involves close, conceptual collaboration on a post-graduate university course in healthcare management, clinical research and public health.

Strong focus on knowledge transfer
There are also plans to exchange research materials such as papers, studies and scientific analyses, joint activities in the training of managers and the transfer of knowledge within the two universities’ various organisational structures. The collaboration will be coordinated on both sides by a “Senior School Administrator”. For the MedUni Vienna, this role will be held by Markus Müller, Vice Rector for Research. The Johns Hopkins University has nominated Phillip Phan, Professor and Executive Vice Dean of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, for the role.
