MudTronics is a collaborative competition at the intersection of biology, technology, and art/design. Participants explore how microbial fuel cells (MFCs) can convert organic matter such as mud or wastewater into electrical energy, creating innovative, low-power applications. The event encourages interdisciplinary teams to develop prototypes that are playful, critical, and ecologically grounded, with applications in sensing, communication, agriculture, and sustainable technologies. Selected teams receive starter kits (including materials for building microbial fuel cells) and are supported through online workshops and feedback sessions with Mi-Hy scientists throughout the development phase. Limited travel budget to Paris also available.
