VASCage: Further 18 million euros for research on vascular ageing and stroke

The VASCage research centre in Innsbruck has received research funding for another four years. An international jury has analysed the past successes and future plans and unanimously recommended further funding. The quality of the research projects was rated as outstanding.

VASCage is funded within the COMET programme by the Federal Ministries for Climate Protection (BMK) and Economics (BMAW) and the federal states Tyrol, Salzburg and Vienna. A similarly high proportion is financed by corporate partner and a small part by scientific partner institutions. For the coming funding period from 2023-2027, the centre has a total budget of 18.36 million euros. Among others the shareholders of the research company VASCage, the Medical University of Innsbruck and the University of Innsbruck, are also involved in numerous scientific projects.
