AOP Health: Bianca Tan Assuming New Position as Therapeutic Area Director Cardiology and Pulmonology

In 2006, Bianca Tan started her career at AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals GmbH (AOP Health), an Austrian pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Vienna that specializes in rare diseases and intensive care medicine. She has worked in various departments within Research & Development since 2008, most recently as Head of Clinical Operations and Medical Device Development. In the fall of 2023, the 40-year-old took over as Therapeutic Area Director Cardiology and Pulmonology.

Due to her many years of experience at AOP Health, Tan is well-equipped in terms of extensive knowledge and expertise. In her new role, she will work closely with her team to develop strategic concepts to ensure successful positioning of the company's cardiology and pulmonology products in various markets. Her responsibilities include the development of strategies for scientific projects, positioning against competitors, and the development of marketing concepts. In doing so, she places particular emphasis on a profound understanding of the challenges and needs of existing and potential new markets as well as stakeholders, including patients and doctors.

“My main role at HQ is to provide the necessary support for our colleagues in other countries and to set the strategic direction that will guarantee they can operate successfully, because cooperation with our country subsidiaries and subcompanies is of great importance to achieve our goals and to ensure the best possible care for our stakeholders", explains Tan.
