FWF: New Call for Translational Research Projects, Deadline: 27. 3. 2008

The Austrian Science Fund FWF announces a new Call for Translational Research Projects.

Target group:
- Scientists of any discipline working in Austria

Goals:
The funding of extended or oriented basic research at the interface to applied research, based on the results of the applicants' own basic or applied research or, for projects at the interface between art and science, on the applicants' own artistic work. Projects should be directed towards concrete applications and/or to an economic, societal or cultural application that has still to be developed.
The promotion of cooperation between scientists at universities with scientists at extra-university research institutions or other institutes of higher education with the aims of using synergies with regard to personnel and infrastructure and improving cooperation in connection with the training of doctoral students.

Requirements:
- high scientific quality at an international level
- innovative potential of the expected application
- no commercial financial partner already involved

Length:
- maximum 36 months

Eligibility:
- researchers working in Austria

Level:
- variable, depending on the individual project
- the average level of project funding is around EUR 76.300 per year
