At the core of this event will be a series of short presentations by researchers from Austria working in the wider field with ample opportunities for interactions, discussion, and networking. Furthermore, there will be a keynote lecture by Thomas Lengauer, who will present his groundbreaking research on using machine learning for the improvement of HIV therapy, as a striking early example of machine learning having a very real and positive impact for patients in Europe.
The event is free to attend (thanks to the support of CeMM, MedUni Vienna, and the Austrian Platform for Personalized Medicine) and open to all: developers and users of machine learning methods, researchers in biology and medicine, students, postdocs, professors, physicians, and anyone else interested in this emerging field.
