The world is full of innovations and best practices for a wide range of challenges. But which of them are a good fit for our healthcare system?
To find out, we will be organizing AHF-Delegation Visit to the most exciting innovation platforms and boldest implementation locations: Together with decision-makers, users, and other health enthusiasts, we are embarking on a journey to explore healthcare systems in other countries, exchange ideas with local experts, and develop an international network of friends and collaborators. Our aim is not just to talk about innovation, but to enable it. That's why our trips will take us to places where innovative solutions can be experienced first-hand and practical approaches for the future can be developed.
In cooperation with the Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy, the first AHF-Delegation Visit will take us to the USA. There, we will attend the world's leading event in the field of healthcare informatics and digital health technology, the HIMSS Global Health Conference (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society). The aim of HIMSS is to promote the transformation of the healthcare sector through the use of information technology. The latest trends and innovations in areas such as electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, artificial intelligence, big data and cybersecurity will be presented at the conference and trade fair.
The second half of the network trip will consist of site visits to world-leading hospitals and healthcare providers in Southern California, for example, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center and others. At these site visits, our delegation will have the opportunity to meet the engineers and users of the most advanced digital health solutions, learn about the benefits and challenges they create, and discuss their transferability to Austria. Visits to innovation centers and production sites are also planned, enabling our delegation a peek behind the curtain into the world of medical innovation.
