“Several years ago the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna has decided to systematically support spin-off activities at the campus via a special research holding, the VetWIDI. Being a university we never wanted to become only a landlord or a sponsor for companies. We always wanted to trigger a shared understanding of the different needs of companies and universities. By now businesses at the campus provide for first-class research cooperations and interesting spheres of activity for our alumni.”, tells Wolf-Dietrich v. Fircks, rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine.
Eva Czernohorsky and Michaela Fritz, executive board of LISA VR about the campus: “LISA VR aims to unlock the potential of the life sciences in the Vienna Region. Therefore we support the commercial application of scientific discoveries via a multitude of activities. Funding instruments available at Austria Wirtschaftsservice and the Vienna Center for Innovation and Technology also play a central role in this regard. Today we have successfully shown that the campus of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna is one of those places in Vienna that stand for substantial technology transfer. Research and business complement one another and lead to interesting innovations.
