MFPL: Innovation Luminary Award for Alexander von Gabain

Alexander von Gabain, Professor at MFPL, Chairman of the Governing Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and member of the supervisory board of Intercell AG has been awarded the Innovation Luminary Award, which also means he’s a member of the Innovation Luminary Academy from now on.

He was presented the award during the Open Innovation 2.0 Conference this month at Trinity College Dublin. The award celebrates and recognizes outstanding innovators whose work inspires the next generation of young entrepreneurs.

Introducing the awards by recorded video President of the EU Commission José Manuel Barroso said “I am very excited to see the quality of the nominees this year and am sure that the Innovation Luminary Awards will fast become a hallmark for celebrating and encouraging innovation achievement”.

Other inaugural luminaries included Professor Stephen Hawking, Felix Baumgartner, Dr Alexander Osterwalder and companies such as McLaren Electronic Systems and Rovio.
