The significant growth of health services within the Arabian region has in turn led to a marked increase in the number of both exhibitors and visitors at Arab Health: over 4,000 exhibitors presented to 130,000 visitors from 163 countries. Those companies who have been exhibitors for several years and have been cultivating their contacts found this to be an especially valuable and successful opportunity.
LISAvienna utilized this event as an opportunity to stay in contact with Viennese companies, to make them aware of current funding opportunities, and to network companies with potential partners. LISAvienna also served as the first point of contact for questions concerning life sciences in Vienna. Arab Health offered a one-of-a-kind opportunity to analyze current industry trends - important information for the continued development of the services offered by LISAvienna.
Visits to the presentation and networking events of the Austrian Business Council UEA were also on the agenda, with this year‘s theme "Investment Opportunities in the Healthcare Sector in Dubai". The presentations highlighted the ambitious plans within health services in the Arabian region. Legal issues concerning the development and operation of health facilities in the United Arab Emirates were presented and first-hand experiences were shared. Special focus will be on medical tourism in the coming years with a large number of new projects involved. It is currently estimated that 500,000 medical tourists, with treatments divided among 30 hospitals, will be visiting annually. According to Dr. Layla Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Acting Director Health Regulation Department of Dubai Health Authority, 435,000 patients visited in 2015. The majority of the visitors were from Africa, Eastern Europe, and Saudi Arabia.
Due to the continued expansion of health facilities in the Arabian region and the increase in services offered by medical tourism, this market and thereby this trade fair continue to grow in importance. This positive growth trend is reflected by the increase of exhibitors from Vienna. Representatives from LISAvienna will be attending Arab Health again in 2017.
