EUCODIS expands its Candida antarctica lipase panel

Based on the overwhelming success of Candida antarctica lipase B (CalB) variants introduced in 2017, EUCODIS Bioscience has now expanded its CalB collection with novel immobilized variants.

Lipases belong to the family of esterases and naturally convert triglycerides and fats into fatty acids and glycerol in aqueous conditions. The opposite reaction is catalyzed if water is absent and, consequently, lipases can be used as versatile tools in hydrolytic, esterification and transesterification reactions to produce cosmetic, food, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Owing to their enantio-, chemo- and regioselectivity, as well as their performance under a wide range of reaction conditions, the CalB is one of the most versatile lipases. It offers a high stability in organic and aqueous environments as well as in a broad pH and temperature range.

Immobilization of the enzyme provides clear benefits by further stabilizing the enzyme in challenging reaction environments, simplifying its removal from the reaction mixture by filtration or sedimentation and streamlining the recycling and re-use of the biocatalyst for cost-efficient production processes.

We at EUCODIS offer our CalBs immobilized by adsorption or by covalent immobilization on our polymer carrier proven mechanically remarkably more stable than other CalBs in the market. We also extend our services to custom immobilize CalBs to achieve highest performances for your specific application.

Choose from our three CalB variants,  immobilized on various resins with different properties, tailored to our application:

  • EUCODIS CalB01 optimized for applications in organic solvents
  • EUCODIS CalB02 optimized for aqueous media
  • EUCODIS wildtype-CalB
