The Max F. Perutz Laboratories, the Joint-Venture of the Medical University of Vienna and the University Vienna at the Campus Vienna Biocenter, invite to their celebration on Tuesday June, 10th 2008 at Studio 44, Rennweg 44, 1030 Wien.
Fifteen years ago, the first University Departments moved to the Campus Vienna Biocenter. 2005 the University Vienna and the Medical University Vienna founded the Max F. Perutz Laboratories (MFPL): an inter-university and visionary structure to strengthen research and education on an international top level in the field of Molecular Biology. In January 2007, Prof. Graham Warren, until then Professor of Molecular Biology in Yale, USA, was appointed as Scientific Director of MFPL.
The MFPL are named after Max F. Perutz, who moved 1936 from Vienna to Cambridge for scientific reasons. 1962 he received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for the solution of the protein structure of Haemoglobin.
