For healthcare game changers

Corporate-ready startups with a validated business model and a working prototype in the following areas are invited to apply:

  • IT-based process management technologies: Predictive algorithms, smart analytics or information management systems
  • Big Data Solutions: AI for pattern recognition, benchmarking and decision support, blockchain technology or cybersecurity applications to protect patient data

The Health Hub Vienna‘s current focus is on concepts and solutions for healthcare professionals and patients in healthcare systems, such as:

SOLUTIONS TO manage chronic diseases, cardio-vascular, metabolic or respiratory diseases, inflammation, immunology, oncology, neurological or infectious diseases, rare diseases, regenerative medicine. Support for patients and medical professionals (e.g. improve adherence, prompt lifestyle change, facilitate data recording and treatment plans).

CONCEPTS FOR points of care (hospitals, doctor’s offices, walk-in clinics). (Digital) technologies for diagnostics, decision support, remote monitoring etc. May also include process improvements (Electronic Health Records, patient education/information etc.) We are not looking for „classical“ red biotech or pharmaceutical therapies.

HOW TO make the healthcare system overall more productive. Preventive diagnostics and treatments, tele-monitoring, home care & recovery solutions etc.

About the accelerator program

The startup program is conducted by INiTS Universitäres Gründerservice Wien GmbH, Vienna‘s higtech incubator who worked with health startups since 2002. The main objective of the workshops in the acceleration program is to connect startups with mentors and industry experts. Together, they work on their challenges, focusing on important topics in the healthcare industry such as regulatory affairs or fundraising. One of the highlights of the program will be the participation at the Health.Pioneers (October), including privileged access to closed events, networking opportunities with successful startup founders, CEOs of key healthcare companies and selected investors. The program currently consists of four “Sprint Workshops”, runs 100 days (start September 2019) and takes place in Vienna. Mostly remote, subsidies for travel expenses available. Selected startups do not give away shares but are given opportunities to chose.
